Hi! It’s been a while since I’ve written an article about, well… Just about anything. I’ve been spending a fair amount of time in production mode over here at Mercury Leads. If you’re unfamiliar with who I am, my name is Jay Plvan and my partners and I specialize in generating insurance leads as well as setting appointments in just about any industry you can think of.
For me, the essence of our business is keeping things simple. It’s about taking a message from one of our clients and making it short, concise, and effective. Because, let’s be honest, if I drone on about insurance leads for over 30-seconds, I’m going to lose most people.
I don’t know about you, but my time, my partners’ time, and your time is important to me. It’s almost essential that I respect that time as I no doubt expect the same in return.
People have ADD. Everyone is looking to get things done and move on to the next task. They are looking to do things that are going to help their business and personal life. And the fact of the matter is, if you can’t tell me how you’re going to help me in less than five seconds, I’m moving on to the next item on my to-do list.
Not to mention all of the marketing and sales noise that is coming across all of our desks on a daily basis. How many different salespeople are you talking to on a daily basis? You simply don’t have time to listen to them all.
That’s why today, more than ever to create messaging that is short, to the point, and no-nonsense. Getting your foot in the door is a privilege, not a right. So keeping your message short and capturing attention in minimal time is what will make or break you.
So please, for your sake, your clients’ sake, and your own mental sanity, make sure that your message is short and concise. Remember, keep it simple stupid.
